Well you’ve all been asking for it, so here it is, the elevator drawing. It’s amazing, work can be so rough on people that even though these commuters are going home, they still look just as miserable as they do in the morning.

Today I put together a small collage of few reportage drawings I made during the evening rush hour. This has been great, but I’m ready for larger paper and larger ideas. It’s funny, it starts as a way to practice and document and already I’m ready to move on. Well onward and upward!

Back to work. A woman on the phone, no time to stop and talk, just keep moving. And then there is this girl who is waiting. Maybe she’s waiting for the woman on the phone?

This has been a great week drawing. I hope to keep up with it in terms of documenting these people. Here is an illustration of a group of unfortunate people standing in a painfully long line. Enjoy the weekend.

Here are 2 of my favorites of the day. An intense NY Times reader and a content Indian man on the subway. Different?, certainly.

So it’s just too difficult to draw 1 person a day, so I’m just going to put up as many as I think works for that day. This is New York City afterall. So here are 3 women that I found particularly different and interesting. They each had their own distinct personalities, which helped distract […]

Each day as I walk around the city I see thousands of commuters. Each telling a similar, yet very unique story. I think they are a great reportage subject and I’ve decided to post a daily commuter to my blog. My first entry is a drawing of an older, heavy set man feverishly tapping away […]

September 11, 2001 changed my life. It made me see just how fragile life is, and made me appreciate my life. To understand how fortunate I am that each day I wake up I am afforded the opportunity to explore the potentialities of the day is a lesson that I hold higher than any other. […]

I spent part of this Labor Day weekend with my wife and studio 1482 member Despina Georgiadis and our son visting the Met and Central Park. This was our first visit as a family, and coincidentally the Met happened to have a show of one of my very favorite artists JMW Turner. While it was […]

Last December I was contacted by Carmichael Lynch to be 1 of 7 illustrators contributing toward a custom promotional booklet announcing the launch of the Harley Davidson Dark Custom Motorcycle. The art producer on the project, Andrea Mariash, has recently posted the job to her weblog, and I thought it would be a great time […]
