Pavement was my favorite band for a very long time. I listened to them almost constantly throughout the 90s and I believe I saw them 7 times live. So you can imagine my disappointment when they broke up in 1999. Last August (2009) it was announced that Pavement would play a reunion show in Central Park in September 2010! Though I was on Ticketmaster.com the moment tickets went on sale…the server apparently crashed due to the amount of traffic, and I was shut out…however, within hours, 3 additional shows in Central Park were announced, thankfully. It was gratifying on some level that such a great, “relatively” unknown band could sell out a venue like that…and could then sell out the majority of their 2010 world tour.

So after a year of waiting, I did see my favorite band 3 times in a week. Once in Philadelphia, twice in Central Park. It was surreal and it felt like 1994 all over again…for a few seconds anyway. Here are a few drawings from their last show in NY, 9/24/2010.
